Russia claims that the 'Blue Stream' natural gas pipeline fa

Moscow, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Gazprom announced on the 8th that the Krasnodar compressor station of the Blue Stream natural gas pipeline was damaged by a Ukrainian drone attack.

Gazprom issued a statement saying that a natural gas compression station located in the Krasnodar Krai in southwestern Russia was attacked by drones on the 7th. The station serves the export supply of Russian natural gas through the "Blue Stream" natural gas pipeline. Gazprom said that the Ukrainian side tried to disrupt the stable gas supply from Russia to Türkiye, and the Russian side successfully avoided the interruption of gas supply by taking quick measures. Currently, Gazprom is repairing damaged facilities.

In addition, Governor of Rostov Oblast in Russia, Slusari, posted on social media on the 8th that the state was hit by a large-scale drone attack in the early morning of the same day, causing damage to the hulls of two oil tankers heading to Rostov on Don. The acting governor of Belgorod Oblast, Shuvayev, stated that a village in the Oblast was attacked by a drone on the same day, resulting in one death and six injuries. Russian appointed Kherson Regional Governor Sardo stated that in the past day, Ukrainian drone attacks have resulted in the death of one local resident and injuries to five others.

Russian President's Press Secretary Peskov stated at a press conference on the 8th that Ukraine's continued aggression and tendency to launch terrorist attacks against key international energy system facilities are very dangerous. Russia is taking all possible measures to minimize the danger posed by the attack. Russia expects Türkiye and other countries to use their influence to warn Ukraine not to take such actions.

On the 8th, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on social media that the Russian military carried out large-scale strikes on 157 Ukrainian military logistics centers, fuel, energy, and transportation infrastructure, as well as ammunition depots and temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian and foreign mercenaries, including the Ukrainian capital Kiev, in the early hours of the same day.
