Bangkok, July 8th (Xinhua) - According to a survey report released by the Thai Institute of Technology on July 8th, nearly a quarter of Thai urban residents choose to live alone, believing that this lifestyle values independence, self-care, and long-term planning.
The Taijing Research Institute recently surveyed 2202 urban residents aged 24 and above, and the survey results confirmed that "single or living alone" is becoming a mainstream lifestyle and is expected to change the entire business system.
When asked about the biggest benefits of living alone in a survey, 58% of people said they enjoy this independence - being able to eat, travel, and shop as they please without waiting for anyone. 57% of people say that single life is easier to plan and decision-making is faster; 54% of people say they appreciate this flexible time management approach. Only 1% of people believe that being single has no advantages.
According to a survey, 30% of respondents living alone reported exercising or going to the gym every week, which is significantly higher than those living with others. This indicates that living alone provides greater flexibility in scheduling time and maintaining exercise habits.
61% of respondents aged 50 and above who live alone stated that they plan to take care of themselves or hire caregivers when they are sick. (End)
